Several years ago I started consulting for a company needing interim help running their finance department until they found a permanent replacement. During this transition the company was in the midst of significant hyper growth - 300% YOY annual revenue growth - and preparing for its first annual audit, a daunting and uncertain time for any business. Shortly after starting to dig in, it became apparent that the company was unprepared for the rapid growth they were undergoing and the audit that was fast approaching. Immediately, I began working alongside the operations and executive teams to implement monthly management reporting to help them better understand how to maximize the growth while leading the efforts to ready the books and records for the impending evaluation by a Big 4 accounting firm.
