The streaming application technology company previously known as Swim has renamed itself Nstream. The announcement comes alongside news that the stream platform, formerly centered on the company's flagship on-premises software, stream Edge (previously Swim Continuum), has an additional deployment option - Nstream Cloud, a PaaS product. Paired with Nstream Edge, Nstream sees stream Cloud as part of a technology offering designed to address the disconnect between data streaming architectures and the end users attempting to benefit from continuous intelligence or event-driven workflows. In many organizations, investments in data streaming pipelines have failed to meet expectations due to applications not being set up for streaming. For many, this has not just prevented real-time insight or reactivity, but also has increased the operational cost of applications, with data flows structured in a way that increases storage costs.
